Environmental Health departments around the country have now stipulated the requirement to provide food handlers who do not speak English as a first language with suitable instruction and training. First Health and Safety’s Polish food hygiene (in Polish) module contains all the information that Polish food handlers will require to comply with the requirements of training in the Food Hygiene Regulations.
Migrant workers are becoming more and more commonplace across the European Union and this situation is likely to continue for some time to come, and may even be quite normal as people find they prefer working where the work suits them best.
For this reason it is vitally important that employers act responsibly and make a proactive move to assist migrant workers as much as they can. Difficulties invariably arise when there is a lack of communication. It is not good practice to place the onus of making sure all commands and directives are understood by the migrant workers – this is the role of the employer. Our Polish food hygiene course helps you address this issue.
All too often migrant workers are expected to learn the language of the country they are working in. Most do, but it can take time to become sufficiently fluent. As an interim measure, it is therefore a better idea that employers reach out to their migrant workers and make all directives and instructions available to them in their own native language. This is why we have developed the Polish food hygiene course.
In this way there can be no misunderstandings due to translation difficulties. The employer gets the best from the workers who feel valued and appreciated, while the employers know they have made their migrant workers fully aware of their position with no margin of error to consider.
It is to this end that First Health and Safety have made available a Polish language food hygiene course – containing all the information that Polish food handlers will need for compliance with the requirements of training in the Food Hygiene Regulations.
By the end of the course you will have learned about:
- Understand what the law says regarding food hygiene
